Football Season is Here and so is Fall Sports Photography
As August approaches and a new school year begins, excitement builds for Friday Night Lights. Walking through the gates of a high school stadium, you can hear the band echoing in the crisp fall air. Cheerleaders prepare signs poking fun at the opposing team, while the boys of fall warm up, exchanging fist bumps and trash talk.
This time of year flies by, and many think that program pictures and Senior banners are enough to remember it by. But what if you could have a high school sports photography session tailored just to you or your group of friends? Imagine a fog machine, cool gelled lights, and dramatic action shots capturing your time. With the RDP Sports Experience, you can!
What’s the Difference?
You might think, “The program picture is enough,” but is it really? Across Birmingham and throughout Alabama, pictures for programs and banners are taken by a school-appointed company, ensuring a uniform look for everyone. Typically, they feature students kneeling with their helmet or poms, or standing proudly with their band instrument. While there is some flexibility in the banner picture, the experience is generally quick and impersonal.
With a sports photography session by Randy Daniel Photography, your personality, your position, and your ideas are front and center. Each sports session is planned with you, whether you want an individual session or one with your friends. When you arrive, you know exactly what to expect. All you need is your uniform and any props you want to incorporate.
The entire process is an experience you’ll never forget. I will ensure you look comfortable, confident, and powerful in front of the camera. Unlike program pictures, which aim to get as many people through as possible, a fall sports session with Randy Daniel Photography allows me to guide you through the process and ensure you get the most out of your experience.
After the shoot, I will meet with you and your parents to review the proofs and let you choose which ones you want to keep forever.
Do I Have to be a Senior?
Absolutely not! You can have a sports session any year. Many students play multiple sports until their Senior year and then focus on just one sport, making it important to capture those memories before then. Additionally, documenting your progression through your chosen sport each year is a natural way to preserve your athletic journey. Capture those milestones and watch your growth unfold through stunning photographs.
Full Uniform or Jeans and Jersey?
Full Uniform: Wearing a full football uniform captures the spirit and intensity of the game. It enhances the overall aesthetic, creating dynamic and powerful images that stand out. The uniform allows for a wide range of poses and action shots, from intense game-day stances to relaxed candid moments, resulting in a diverse and engaging photo collection.
Jeans and Jersey: Opting for jeans and a jersey creates a more casual and relatable look. This combination reflects your personal style while still showcasing your connection to the sport, making the photos feel authentic and approachable.
At the end of the day, we believe a full uniform offers the most versatility in capturing your athletic prowess, showcasing the intensity and spirit of the game. However, it’s ultimately your choice. And guess what? We can do both if you want! This way, you get the best of both worlds – the dynamic action shots in full gear and the relaxed, personal moments in a jersey and jeans.
